NERD

lovely people,

The title of this post is NERD with a reason... cause I've been such a nerd last time! 

Working weekends as well, just trying to make my experiments work and repeating things over and over again. Almost forgot about my BLOG, but I am back again and have a lot to share.

So 3 weeks ago I got this invitation for my Phd interview and I was like hellyeah I am through.

One week later I had my interview, so had 1 week to prepare.. gosh that was hard.. worked late hours but everyone helped me a lot and had a view practice interviews as well! The thing is that they can ask you anything.. random science questions and that made me real nervous. So the interviews took place on a saturday, it was like the whole day with seminars, discussions and the interview itself! One of my interviewe was Martin Raff!! the guy who wrote the cell biology book, I am a fan of him.. I know very geeky..

I still haven't heard anything, but I assume that I didn't get a place between all the UCL students around here.. the competition was very hard.

So whats next?  I say enjoying london to the fullest cause its just until may now... Gonna miss this city and the people a lot.

2012!

After being so goddamn busy I thought let me start fresh in 2012!
Wish you all a very happy new year and may all your wishes come true.
The last couple of weeks were great! I met so many new English people and we went clubbin'
After a great xmas party from work I went to the COURT which is an pub/bar. I went there with my lovely friend and collegue Geoff and his flatmates. The night ended at Geoffs flat at Kings Cross, with a lovely view on the London eye. The next night we had the some routine, after seeing a pentamime with the labmembers we went to Club ROXY. That was so amazing, Loved the music and the people!

This is me and Geoff partying! I am so glad that I know Geoff, we are always moaning about yeast in the lab, its soo funny!

OK guys I need some advicee.. I signed up for a Phd and getting the result on the 4th, so that's almost! I just don't know if I am ready yet.. Its 4 years fulltime working! maybe I just want to enjoy my life in Amsterdam as a Masterstudent. I just signed up and see what happens.
I am enjoying Amsterdam at the moment, it feels good to be re-united with my friends and family again. Nothing is better then home, but I must say I miss the big city!
Going back on the 8th and promise you guys that I will keep ya updated.

Whatsup people! Sorry haven't been in touch since a while now.
Guess what, I moved out and I don't have Wifi.. terrible. That's why I didn't got the chance to keep ya updated. I am at the uni now.. busy with rewriting my researchplan cause some things have been changed.
I worked with a girl, actually my supervisor.. But she wasn't supervising me.. en thing's did not changee with my experiments. So I had enough and went to talk to the groupleader and he understood me and changed my project! So I spend all my time writing at the moment.

My best friend came over last week and we went to a birthday party from a friend of a friend! It was so funny to go out outside Amsterdam. It felt a bit weird though cause I always used to go out in Amsterdam. But we really enjoyed it! We went to Westfield for shopping, Winter wonderland the xmas market, liverpool street to party..over all it was amazing!

In two weeks I will be back home for xmas, can't waiitttttt. Counting the days now!
Im going to keep it short today.. cause need to get back to work!

I just realised that my last post was sooo long ago! so here i will make an update.
The last two weeks have beeen so busy! after by friend left I have ben quite stressed out.
Research is a world when everything does not always go your way.. unfortunately I have that issue now.. and my experiments are not working!! Then I have that researchplan and Phd apllication going through my mind.. oooh gosh its so hectic! but the good thing is that my other BF is coming on thursday and I am going to have some fun and enjoy London moreeeeeee. And on the 23th of December I will be back in Amsterdammmmm!! my lovely hometown. Finally some time with my friends&family.
I have some more news to share.. I just moved out today! so from today I will be living in Hounslow.. finally away from the ghettooo

I am really thinking every night about keeping ya updated, so sorry it took me 2 weeks now.

OMG have soo much to share! My last 2 weeks have been so hectic..

At work its getting harder everyday.. I am really trying to keep up with my researchplan, my experiments and at the same time understanding the science behing every step. But I am keeping it up quite well.

Had a terrible week tough.. for some reason I felt homesick and not all my experiments worked.

But that's a part of this whole adventure.. good day's and bad day's.

I had such a great weekendd!! My friend Savannah, from Amsterdam came to visit me!

It started off soo funny.. cause I met her on the airport and we were like running and screamingg when we saw each other.. just like in a movie. So we started talking.. en suddenly I said to her.. why is it so quiet.. and then I saw everybody with their hand on their chest.. cause of the 2 minutes peace! And we felt so ashamed hahaha. But finally after arriving homee.. we had a lovely dinner at a mexican restaurant.

I was not really feeling well that night so we went home after dinner and the next day we went to oxford streeet for shopping!! here a picture from my new outfitt...

We had such a great timeee.. leicester square, westminster, picadelly, oxford... just went everywhere..

Hey peeepss
I wish I had more time to keep ya´ll updated! I try to post something once a week.
I am really enjoying London to the fullest! And i keep meeting people on the streets..
Don´t know how, like its written on my forehead that I am from Amsterdam.
But I like it though, because these people are become real good friends of mine!

So last weekend I went to B´ham to my family, unfortunately I didn´t do anything wit halloween cause I didn´t had time. But my whole week was great! I am barely at home, have an appointment everyday after work.
I have been to Oxford street two times this week! And today the lights were on, it looked so nice en i really like the crowd!

And OMG, its a heaven to go shopping! dresses and crazy shoes.. i love it

Next week my dear friend from Amsterdam is coming, so i will go to westfield then, and spend some money!

And this friday I am going to dance salsaaa... like omg ive done it once and im terrible!

I used to do hiphop in Amsterdam, so I hope i will be fine!

My internship is still great! I am working on my own now, and i love it!

And my boss is great.. we had a meeting in the dark last monday cause he was wearing this glow in the dark Halloween shirt..

I am going to continue with my researchplan now..

30 pound CAKE

Hi guys

omg omg, I have so much to share.

I have an amazing time hereee... enjoying every minute of this!

And I am moving out in a month! To a much better neighboor hood.

The place where I live now, is kinda ghetto! 

So I can't wait to move out!

I just got back from a amazing dinner at NANDO's, yes yes the place to be If you like Chicken!

I went with my Dutch friend that I met on the streets across Gower street!

So we went to Russel square today, and it was lovely...It felt like I have known her for years.

Russel Square is an nice place, with some restaurants and shops!

There was also a cake shop... the cakes were like 30 poundss!! that's so expensive..

But it looks yummmieee

We had cleaning day at the lab today, which was very necessary, cause it was a mess!!

So me and the other lab members have been cleaning the whole day!

My internship is going fine, think I am going to start with my own project sooon!

I am off to bed now, tomorrow will be a busy day!
